The mission of the Business and Innovation Development (BID) unit at the University of Turku is:
- to realize and develop the innovation and entrepreneurship strategy of the University of Turku
- to conduct research on innovations and entrepreneurship in collaboration with the faculties and other units of the university
- to conduct research on applied ICT sector R&D and the commercialization of technological innovations
- to provide education in innovations and entrepreneurship
- to promote the commercialization and other use of university research and know-how on a regional, national and international scale
- to produce knowledge needed in the development of the regional and national innovation system
