This event is aimed at both doctoral students and more experienced scholars in the Turku School of Economics who are keen to learn about the ‘tricks of the trade’ of publishing articles in international journals in the field of entrepreneurship. While the focus of the seminar is on entrepreneurship, the basic principles are applicable in most fields of business studies. The seminar is organized by TSE Entre.
The seminar programme will cover topics such as:
- Publishing as part of your academic career
- Writing a publishable article based on qualitative/quantitative methods
- Choosing a suitable outlet for your research and understanding journal rankings
- Managing the publication process
The seminar will be an informal event where participants are encouraged to ask questions and engage in discussion. The participants also have the opportunity to bring their work-in-progress articles to the seminar for group discussions with peers and the facilitators.
The facilitators of the seminar are Dr Teemu Kautonen (TSE Entre) and Dr Simon Down (University of Newcastle, UK). Both facilitators have extensive experience from publishing in and reviewing for entrepreneurship journals. Further, Dr Down is currently a Co-Editor of the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research, which is one of the leading European outlets for entrepreneurship research.
Registration
In order to facilitate the informal nature of the seminar, the number of participants is limited to 20. Please register to the seminar by sending an email to teemu.kautonen(a)tse.fi and indicating whether you want to bring along a work-in-progress paper and participate in the group discussions. The registration deadline is 31 January 2010.
