Dissertation: Impacts of economic incentives on the increase and distribution of knowledge

The increase of knowledge and its spread through society are important to economic decisions and technological development, as well as for the welfare they generate. In his doctoral dissertation Essays in the Economics of Knowledge, Samuli Leppälä, M.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Adm.), uses economic research methods to investigate the social meaning of knowledge. The focus is on economic incentives for individuals and companies. Levels of effort made to acquire accurate knowledge and forward reliable information depend on these incentives.
