International Conference
FUTURE OF THE CONSUMER SOCIETY
28-29 May 2009, Tampere, Finland
Finland Futures Research Centre and Finland Futures Academy organises the 11th Annual Conference with the topic Future of the Consumer Society. The conference will be held from May 28th to May 29th in 2009 in the University of Tampere.
The Future of the Consumer Society conference will cover two subjects: consumption and futures research methods. Consumption is becoming a key issue in the debate on creating a sustainable future. Futures studies is ideally placed to help us to face this challenge. By examining a variety of possibilities, we can come closer to choosing and shaping the future, rather than merely predicting it.
The conference will bring together the best futures studies and consumer research experts in the scientific community to interact with corporate representatives and policymakers. Conference presenters will address broadly the future of the consumer society. The conference keynote presenters will highlight the future from the consumer and the corporate perspective. In the parallel sessions, a wide spectrum of aspects of the future of the consumer society will be addressed. Future of the consumption will be studied for example from the perspective of food, social media, globalisation and values.
The conference website will contain the most up-to-date information regarding the 2009 conference. E.g. a detailed conference programme can be found from there. If you have any questions, please contact us at conference2009@tse.fi.
We look forward to seeing you in Tampere in May 2009!
