Turku School of Economics supports the development of knowledge connected with responsible business and sustainable development in interdisciplinary research and educational activities.

At the same time, it promotes specialization area profiling on the national level, important from the perspective of global economic development. This strengthens the University of Turku consortium as an internationally respected specialist in expertise and partner in top-level research in the field.

Sustainable development

Sustainable development is a pivotal operational principle in business activity today. Sustainable development refers to the integrated management of the economy and environmental matters over the long term.

Education and research linked with the various levels of sustainable development represent an essential element of TSE’s operations.

Finland Futures Research Centre, whose starting point in education, research and development is a sustainable future and the top-level know-how research linked with the same, is a pivotal actor at Turku School of Economics.

Responsible business

Responsible business operations at Turku School of Economics are built on the basis of many mainstays.

The Centre for Responsible Business (CeReB), which is Finland’s first academy and multidisciplinary research, training and development unit specialized in responsible business, occupies a critical role. The focal point of CeReB’s research work is responsibility as a possibility in business activity.

In addition, the subject departments and networks boast several other concentrations of expertise as well, together with sources of new ideas and projects.
