Advancing Foresight Methodologies: Exploring new ways to explore the future
'Foresight' is a broad term that covers many ways to think about the future. The main objective of this action is to develop certain aspects of foresight methodology so as to ensure their systematic use and optimisation of benefits. The key areas addressed are underlying theories, the identification of seeds of change, the integration of narratives and numbers in models and the enhancement of learning between researchers, decision makers and the public.
The investment in this project by its participants is estimated as Euro 6.5 million per year in 2002 prices. The European Science Foundation's small contribution to this is vital in facilitating the collaboration.
