Economics represents general economic thinking and it is a subject in which post-graduate studies have traditionally been completed at our university. The manner of specialisation for post-graduate students naturally differs to some extent from that in universities where the parallel study of economics and business sciences is not possible. Post-graduate studies in economics completed at TSE thereby complements, on its part, the total whole of economic education in Finland.
In the future, a considerable number of those who have completed post-graduate studies will be placed in businesses, research institutes and public sector jobs beyond the university institution. It is very important for those interested in post-graduate studies to discuss their intentions with economics instructors.
The unit of Economics at Turku School of Economics is involved in the operations of the Finnish Doctoral Program in Economics (FDPE), which is a joint doctoral program of the 11 departments of economics in Finnish universities. FDPE offers courses and seminars to post-graduate students of economics. Part of the Turku School of Economics’ post-graduate studies are completed by means of FDPE courses.
