Information Systems Science 

 


Information systems science is a field of science that studies utilisation of information and communication technology (ICT) in enterprises and other organisations. The areas of study of the research projects are central to business operations, and the results can be directly applied in business management.

The aim of information systems studies at TSE is to facilitate the understanding and management of information systems. The emphasis in the courses lies on the role of information technology in business and management of information resources.

Information systems science in TSE has the following gravity points in research: strategic planning of information systems, network economics and health-care information systems. The department of Management is a member of the Turku Centre for Computer Science (TUCS), which is a joint institution of the three universities in Turku.
