Management information systems have been researched from the end of the 1980's and there has been written among others several licenciate's theses and dissertations. Research concerning decision support systems has focused for example on applying neural networks in different decision situations in business. In relation to learning support systems, there has been development of several enterprise games that have been used both in education and extensively in enterprise training. The research focus is currently especially in developing a game type enabling real time decision-making.
