The research concerning strategic planning of information management started in the middle of the 1980's with the dissertation conducted by Ph.D. Tapio Reponen. The research program searches for answers about how business and information management planning can be integrated and how the cooperation between managers with different background can function as well as possible. According to the principals of action research, the researchers of Turku School of Economics have participated in the development of information management strategies in various organisations. The research program has produced several dissertations and numerous scientific publications.
