Doctoral studies 

For doctoral students, Economic Sociology as a subject offers the possibility to conduct research in a community that has comprehensive know-how. Doctoral studies in Economics Sociology cover a wide range of issues related to economic phenomena, with the focus on a sociological point of view. Central areas of research are:

  • economic action
  • consumption and lifestyle
  • tourism and leisure time
  • media and technology
  • social structures and inequality
  • social mobility
  • studies on welfare state
  • social sciences and philosophy of sciences.

The doctoral ES student can build her/his studies upon his own research interest. Every doctoral student is given personal advice and as intensively as possible. The doctoral students are set 1-2 Ph.D. level supervisors.
