Degree structure of the Business Informatics track
The degree consists of 120 ECTS cr with the following structure:

Major: Information Systems Science
- Advanced studies in Information Systems Science 60 ECTS cr.
- Research methods 6 ECTS cr is obligatory for all GITM-students.
- Master's thesis 30 ECTS cr.
- If a student does not have a major in Information Systems in his/her bachelor's degree, obligatory basic studies must be completed by taking additional examinations in the form of book exams and research essays.
Minor: International Business OR Management & Organisation OR Entrepreneurship
- International Business 25 ECTS cr.
- Management and Organization 25 ECTS cr.
- Entrepreneurship 25 ECTS cr.
Language and communication studies
- First foreign language: Courses in English, at least 6 ECTS cr.
- Second foreign language, foreign students: 4 ECTS cr of Finnish studies is a compulsory part of language studies for foreign students. Other students need to complete 4 ECTS cr of some other foreign language.

Supplementary studies:
Supplementary studies are courses required at the Turku School of Economics for applicants who meet the admission requirements but do not have enough previous studies in information systems-related or business courses.
- The Master's programme requires a minimum of 30 ECTS cr in basic and intermediate studies in information systems science (depending on the previous degree). Some of the studies can be taken as part of the programme studies (elective studies). Such students will need to take these courses during their studies in order to be awarded the Master's degree. Some of the basic studies can be completed by taking additional examinations in the form of book exams and research essays.
- Students that do not have the university level Bachelor's degree equivalent to the Finnish Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Business Administration must supplement their business studies with the maximum number of 23 ECTS cr based on the decision of Council for Academic Research and Education at TSE.
