Finland Futures Research Centre in a Nutshell 

Finland Futures Research Centre is the only academic futures research organisation in Finland and also the biggest in the Nordic countries.

The Centre is specialised in futures studies and foresight.
It
refines visionary knowledge regarding alternative futures and the challenges and possibilities included in them. The Centre offers analytical futures-oriented information in interesting formats to back up its clients futures processes.

The Centre has offices in Turku, Helsinki and Tampere and it employs more than 40 persons. During the year 2008 researchers at the Centre carried out more than 90 research and development projects. The turnover was around 2,44 million euros in 2008.

Wide and multidisciplinary network

The Finland Futures Research Centre has a wide and multidisciplinary national and international network. Along with our own strong research resources this guarantees that the futures knowledge is always produced and analysed by the most capable experts.

The researchers at the Centre are active in many international networks such as the Club of Rome, World Futures Studies Federation, World Futures Society and Association of Professional Futurists

Each year, the Centre organises its annual conference, an invaluable opportunity for meeting, exchanging and debating current topics related in futures studies and foresight. 

A special unit of the University of Turku since 2010

Finland Futures Research Centre was established in 1992 as an auxiliary unit of the Turku School of Economics. In the beginning of the year 2010 the Finland Futures Research Centre has been a special unit of the University of Turku.
