Finland Futures Research Centre's research activities cover a wide range of fields in scientific research. The solid and multidisciplinary basic research provides excellent foundations for applied and tailor-made research, as well as services for training and development. In addition, we continually develop the scientific foundation and methods of futures studies.

Intellectual Capital as a Driver of National Economy in Finland (SAIKA) is funded by Tekes during 2010-2011. The project aims to build a reliable basis for theories, indicators and calculations (productivity function) to measure the impacts of intellectual capital on a national level.
Land use: Synergies and trade-offs between energy and food production? (LUST) is funded by the Academy of Finland. The research project focuses on land use for energy and food production.
Get a Life – future-oriented career guidance for university students
project aims to promote future-oriented thinking and proactivity among university students. The students as well as the career counselors in universities need tools for career planning in order to anticipate and assess the future directions of work life and society. This project provides a future-oriented simulation tool for the students as well as guidance tools for the counseling personnel.
Why Renewable Energy Projects Fail? Design and Implementation of Energy Assistance Projects in Cambodia and Lao PDR (DREAM) is funded by the Academy of Finland during 2009-2012. It aims to improve understanding of reasons why energy projects often fail, and seeks to offer means to develop the planning and implementation of future renewable energy projects. The overall aim is to help the transition towards increasing sustainable use of renewable energy in the developing countries.
