Responsibility as a possibility in business
The Centre for Responsible Business (CeReB) at Turku School of Economics (TSE) is Finland’s first academic centre for responsible business that specialises in multidisciplinary research, education and development projects. The focal point of CeReB’s research work is responsibility as a possibility in business.
CeReB functions as a network within TSE as well as in comprehensive national and international cooperation. In this internal network, over 50 individuals are involved from Turku School of Economics, the largest group of which are researchers and teachers. As of the beginning of 2008, CeReB has become part of the Finland Futures Research Centre.
High-level research as well as educational and development work have already been conducted at TSE since its establishment over 55 years ago. The formation of CeReB has emerged from the fact that these themes as linked with responsibility are regarded as important and timely at Turku School of Economics, and that there is a wish to give more emphasis to these special themes. At the same time, the surrounding community and businesses wish to hear more about these themes. An extensive group of individuals with know-how in the field have been gathered at TSE and, more broadly speaking, Southwest Finland.
