The New Role of Russian Enterprises as Actors in International Business Arena
This research project funded by the Academy of Finland has been designed to study the impact of the outward and inward internationalisation on the microeconomic transformation in Russia, and analyse the consequences of this microeconomic catching up to the future role of Russian firms abroad. The research project focuses on six themes, three of which are studied as doctoral dissertations and three as other academic research. The research will be carried out in 2004-2008. Russia as a source and target of foreign investments
The main aim of this project, financed by the Ministry of Education in Finland, is to find out how the internationalisation of Russian firms impacts Finnish businesses. The research project has two main parts: the first part examines foreign investments in Russia, and the second part studies Russian investments abroad.
The international dimension of the innovation system in Russia – improving functionality via networking
Developing the functionality of the Russian innovation system is a central objective related to a diversification strategy of the economy. Increased international networking and cooperation in the Russian innovation system can add more value to both the functionality and consequently the competitiveness of Russian innovation potential. The main objective of this project is to study the utilisation and impact of present and possible future international linkages and networks of the Russian innovation system. The project aims at contributing towards refining and possibly enriching theories concerning the internationalisation of innovation systems with an emphasis on networks and linkages in general, and particularly those concerning Finnish-Russian cooperation.
